Johnsonville School Choir has an all comers choir (no audition required) for Year 3-6 students inclusive. We meet weekly to practise singing and using their instrument, the voice, to its best potential. Members are expected to attend practises on time and listen out for messages in the message book. There is an activity fee (usually $15 for the year) which covers photocopying, a CD of Art Splash songs and a bus to take us to 2 rehearsals. Members are also required to purchase a blank CD and a clear file for their choir songs.

Each year the school choir participates in the Art Splash Music Festival at the Michal Fowler Centre or the Town Hall.  This takes place in Term 3. Each year there is a theme and usually a prop that the children are required to bring. In 2010 it was a scarf or a hat for our Oliver theme. 2011 was a costume from around the world for our World Cup festivities.

The choir work hard to learn the words off by heart to at least 12 songs throughout the year. After Art Splash is finished we perform in Term 4 out in the community (Malvina Major) and at the school Celebration of Music concert.
